After an early start we travelled by train from Ballarat to Southern Cross and walked over to Docklands, where we caught the Port Phillip Ferry service to Geelong via Portarlington. The weather was beautiful, and we had a very smooth ride down the Bay. We briefly stopped at Portarlington and then on to Geelong.
After a quick walk down Cunningham Pier, and then arrived at our lunch venue, “Wah Wah Gee” Restaurant. They provided a private room which had spectacular views of Corio Bay and Geelong. The meals were terrific and the service from their staff was great.
We had a little time after a very long lunch and checked out the Geelong foreshore. Then it was back on the ferry and back to Melbourne. Some of us caught the next train home and the rest of us had tea at “The Mail Exchange” hotel. Nice food down in the basement of the listed Mail Exchange. Then a late-night train home. A very exhausting day.
Another great idea by Wally P. which everybody really enjoyed. Thanks Wally.

Great photos of the trip to Geelong. Although I looked pretty wind blown sitting up top on the ferry!
It was good to see Peter featuring in our lunch photo!
Thanks for organising Wally .
